With “et al.,” the unnamed others in a citation, I center scholars who feel like outsiders. I understand outsider perspectives as strengths, not weaknesses. And I work to help more scholars find a seat at the table—or, at least, build their own table to sit at.

I work with qualitative scholars at all stages of their careers, from PhD candidates to full professors to independent scholars. I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ as well as neurodivergent scholars, and I’m experienced at editing materials by authors whose first language is one other than English.

In addition to my academic training, I have taken courses on developmental editing for academics with Manuscript Works and Ideas on Fire. I also participate in webinars and trainings with the Editorial Freelancers Association.

I don’t use generative AI in my editorial or coaching work—and I especially never upload my clients’ writing to the AI training pool. I also don’t use gen AI in my marketing, business administration, or writing (e.g., blog posts).
